Old buildings breathe. A Georgian townhouse in Norwich, a flint cottage on the coast or a clay lump farmhouse in South Norfolk manages moisture by absorbing it and letting it evaporate back out through soft mortar and lime plaster. Repair one with cement, hard render or modern masonry paint and you trap that moisture in the wall, where it does much more damage than whatever you set out to fix.

Harley has around nine years of hands-on experience on heritage and period property, working with lime mortar, traditional brick and flint, Norfolk pantiles and the methods appropriate to the age of the building. We work on listed property, homes in conservation areas, and the thousands of unlisted-but-historic buildings across Norfolk that still need repairing the old way.
